How to Take An Effective Mental Health Day 

It takes some intention and planning.

Taking a mental health day is more than just taking a day off of work. It is something that can truly help you reset and recenter. But it takes some intention and planning.

As you plan ahead for your mental health day there are a few things to consider:

  1. Pick a day that truly can be set aside. Don’t do it in the middle of a busy season at work, or right before a big presentation or test.

  2. If you can, try to be away from your home. There are always so many distractions that can deter your attention quickly. Go pick your favorite places to hang out and include some time outside. Time outside replenishes your body of all kinds of vitamins,

  3. As much as humanly possible, limit your use of technology. Turn off notifications on your phone. Your brain needs a rest.

  4. Do things that truly bring you joy and make you feel alive.
