This Morning Ritual Will Improve Your Mood
It’s as simple as a smile.
If you know me, you know that I never recommend any practices I haven’t tried myself. I want to be able to actually speak to the validity and power of the things I suggest you implement.
When I heard about this simple act of smiling when you first wake up I have to admit I was little doubtful in its true impact. But, i figured - what the heck, I might as well try it. I practiced this ritual for 3 weeks and I am here to tell you that not only was it impacting, I have continued to keep the ritual in my morning when I first wake.
Your body goes into a whole set of reactions when you smile. All kinds of amazing things are released and your mood is lifted. Starting the day feeling happy and having the reaction in your body to support it can impact you for the rest of the day.
So give it a try! When you wake up just lay there for a few seconds and smile. I like rolling onto my back and feeling the smile work its way down my body. Also taking just a quick minute to thank God for a new day and that it holds adds to the “happy” as well.
